ELITE DRONE BUILDING AND TRAINING CAPABILITIES
OGT FPV
INTRO COURSE
OakGroveUxS provides training to Military, Law Enforcement, and Civilian Professionals. We offer a range of FPV (First-Person View) courses designed to meet various levels of skill and customization needs.
COURSE SUMMARY
The OGT FPV Introductory Course is a comprehensive ten-day program designed to teach students how to build, operate, and maintain 5” First Person View (FPV) quadcopters. The course blends classroom instruction, simulator training, and live flight exercises to ensure students develop both technical and tactical operational proficiency.

COURSE STRUCTURE
Day 1-2:
Students begin with classroom instruction covering Principles of Flight, Battery Management, FPV Configuration Software, etc. During this phase, they also practice using their FPV radio controller in a flight simulator to establish fundamental control skills.
Day 3-5:
Students start live flying with Tiny Whoops— small, durable FPV trainer drones that they will take back to their units for continued practice. Concurrently, they begin constructing their first Chimera 5” digital FPV quadcopter during facilitated, instructor-led sessions (Crawl Phase). By Friday, they test-fly their newly built quadcopters, marking the conclusion of Week 1.
Day 6-10
The second week emphasizes independence and operational application. Students build a second Chimera 5” quadcopter using their manual and previous experience (Walk Phase), with instructor support as needed. Training progresses to more advanced flight regimens, including flying through a 7,680 sq. ft. multi-story shoot house and a nearby former school. This live flight phase (Run Phase) challenges students to repair drones after inevitable crashes, reinforcing critical maintenance skills. The week concludes with free flight time, After Action Reviews (AAR), equipment refit, and graduation.
